Ice Dams Are Rampant In Ohio - Call the #1 Roofer in Canton and Northeast Ohio

If you have ice build up on your roof, call DM Roofing Siding and Windows. Ice dams are layers of ice that form at the edge of a roof and prevent melting snow from draining off the roof. Differences in roof temperatures ultimately lead to ice dams. The outside temperature of the roof is hot enough to melt the snow but before it runs off the roof entirely, the water refreezes around the perimeter where the roof or gutter surface temperature is lower.

Ice Build Up Can Cause Permanent Damage

The water that backs up behind the dam can refreeze worsening the build up and can lead to leaks inside your home, causing damage to ceilings, walls, and insulation. Leaks can also be incredibly subtle to the point where noticeable moisture damage is not see but moisture becomes trapped inside the house allowing mold and mildew to grow in inaccessible areas.

Call DM to Take Care of the Ice

Because of the tremendous weight buildup, simply smashing the ice dam or knocking it down can cause serious damage. DM’s experienced roofers can help clear the ice and help get your roof back in great shape.

How We Can Stop the Ice

  • Methodically break down Ice Dams to avoid damage
